What’s going on here ? (1)

The disorder in the world of human affairs has been rapidly accelerating since the publishing of my book “A growing disconnect between East & West”.

At the time I concluded with the following observations:

  1. Presently the Chinese are optimistic about the future and they trust their political decision makers while in the West people are generally pessimistic and totally distrust their political decision makers as well as the other elites of their societies which renders them weary about the future
  2. A global financial reset will re-impose the primacy of economic fundamentals and so the cards in the hands of the national economic players will be redistributed
  3. The relative economic might of nations is going to be drastically tested
  4. Atomized societies are zombie societies that their residual inertial energy drives somewhat further down the line and then the line of societal life stops…
  5. In such a context powerful artworks that reflect the future are helping people to become aware of presently sprouting seeds that will be growing further by synchronizing with the patterns of life.

I think that the global financial reset I mentioned is near. The American bully is trying to break the China shop but there is nothing tangible to replace that shop and so the financial world will soon awaken to the fact that the material reality that sustained its speculations has gone missing. That day the US stock market could tank by 50 to 70% within less than a week. As a consequence American consumerism will be pushed on the path of a long descent into social hell governed by a totalitarian dystopia.

China will also suffer, no doubt about that, but as I wrote in “A growing disconnect between East & West”:

History will not fail to remember that the most important factor in the present historical moment is that MAGA and other types of proliferating Western nationalism are destroying the very possibility of a future unification of the world under the banner of Western centric multilateral institutions that are captive of Western big capital holders. And so, for the first time since the start of Modernity, the center of gravity of the economy-world is slipping out of Western control largely helped by its own strategic ineptitude.          Page 53

China’s economic weight is increasing year after year. Its GDP in PPP terms surpassed the US GDP in 2014 and in 2017 it was already 1.3 times the US size and within 2 decades its share of the economy-world is bound to dwarf any competitor. This progression is a natural path that can’t be broken. What will eventually happen is that the path will be slowed down. This is what the US under ‘cocktail Molotov Trump’ is laboring at. But the fact is that all this laboring leads irrevocably to a financial crash to be followed by a great depression. And in such conditions all countries are going to suffer but the West, and more particularly the US, will appear to be naked... and its citizens will be plunged in the reality of a 3rd world country. This societal drama is not going to eclipse China but it might prolong its path to maturity.        Page 120

What we see developing in the Huawei story confirms what I was forecasting at the time. Trump is trying to break China’s development but the rudeness of his teams’ actions is exposing the true nature of the national character of the USA for the whole world to see. And the world is now well aware of the existential danger of being made captive of the US. What this implies is that from now on the non-Anglo world is going to do everything necessary to stay out of reach of the capricious American governance system.

Xi Jinping has already confirmed that China is now engaging on an arduous new “long march” to ensure its technological self-reliance. What this means, even if it will not be uttered loud and clear, is that:
  • there is no need any longer for a trade deal with the ‘non-contract-able’ US. If Trump proposes a no-cost armistice deal China will take it but they will take nothing more costly to them. From now on China’s resources will be devoted to its technological self-reliance...

  • and from now on the Anglo-World will be kept at arm’s length, not only from China itself but also, from the Belt & Road.

For the USA this is a blow-back of historical proportions. But in their hubris they will only discover it after having financially crashed and then the present internal unity to combat China will crack wide open and give way to an epic dog fight that in all probability will end up in the break-up of the country into separate parts.

In light of the historical nature of what these last events have unleashed I’m starting a new series of 10 posts approximately, for your week-end’s reading pleasure, that I’ll publish each Friday over the next two months and a half.
