Ukraine : the local eruption of a shifting global order

At the core of our present moment figures the West trying to force its vision of a new "Rules Based Order" on the world at large. China is refusing to submit to such a forced Western order, or world government, and because of this the West has entered into full attack mode against China.

But in the meantime Ukraine is covering the whole communication space. And so peoples' attention gets captured and they forget about the big picture. This is how Western propaganda operates. It is not visible but it captures the minds and drives them away from what is essential. Ukraine today is distracting the minds from the actions that the West intents to undertake tomorrow against Russia and then against China. Ukraine is merely a local eruption occasioned by the shifting of the center of gravity of the economy-world to East-Asia with Beijing at the core of a worldwide network of commercial relations that has destabilized the Western based Geo-political scene that emerged after the 2nd World-War. As a raging bull the US wants now to destabilize the continuation of China's economic rise and the attack on Russia in Ukraine is merely a first act in a bloody symphony that will only end after the economy of the West (13% of the world population), or that of the rest of the world (87%), collapses and a winner emerges that shall guide the world through a new historical era.

Russia is a very large resource-rich country that, for centuries, has been threatened by the West which was always eager to take ownership of these vast resources for its own benefit. The invasions, by Napoleon and then by Hitler, are testimony of this constant Western threat against Russia. Today's Geo-Political moment is no different. But the fact is that the world is entering in an era of dwindling resources which explains why the West, once more, is so eager to take control of Russia's vast natural assets. But a further factor is now compounding the world’s resource scarcity. The emergence of China has indeed shocked the West into an openly racist attack on Russia. Attacking both simultaneously is too big a challenge so the West wants first to terminate the existence of Russia before to engage in the extermination of China.

But this time around the game is vastly different, for, Russia now has a powerful ally in the first economic power on earth.

By ‘the first economic power on earth’ I mean China. Its 2020 GDP, calculated in PPP terms, reached $US 24,283,173,530,000 (T) versus 20,953,030,000,000 for the USA. Since then the distance between China and the US has continued to grow but more recent world-bank figures are still not available. It is important to note here that GDP's expressed in $ US make no longer any sense now that : — the fiat dollar has been de facto losing its value due to the FED's injection, over the last 2 years, of 40% more dollars in circulation — the status of world currency, of the fiat US dollar, has furthermore been weaponized by the US government to sanction other countries with the result of pushing these other countries to adopt new instruments for international exchanges.

President Biden says the quiet part aloud

Stumbling over his words President Biden blurted out the following reality in public. But by speaking out loud and so publicly about how the United States views the present moment, and then by unveiling for all to hear what is the US strategy, the President of the USA publicly acknowledged what his country had tried to hide from the world for so long. Here are his words :
“You know, we are, I believe, in an inflection point in the world economy. Not just the world economy, the world. It occurs every three or four generations. As one of the top military people said to me in a secure meeting the other day, 60 million people died between 1900 and 1946, and since then we’ve established a liberal world order and that hadn’t happened in a long while; and a lot of people died, but nowhere near the chaos… and now’s the time when things are shifting. There’s going to be a new world order out there. And we’ve got to lead it. We’ve got to unite the rest of the free world into it.” Biden’s speech to the Business Roundtable starts at 36' 50".
Reading the following sentence, "and a lot of people died, but nowhere near the chaos… and now’s the time when things are shifting", it appears that the missing words, indicated by "..." in the transcript, are the most interesting part of the entirety of Biden's tirade.

Please re-read this text a few times and you'll discover that the missing words go something like this :
"60 million people died between 1900 and 1946, but nowhere near what the chaos that emerges in the present moment is going to force the US to inflict in the coming decades".
And then the US President added as a justification for such a butchery by saying that :
"There’s going to be a new world order out there. And we’ve got to lead it. We’ve got to unite the rest of the free world into it".
The picture of what is coming our way, in the mind of the leader of the so-called "free world", is the traditional picture of the bullying West. The 3 suspension points in Biden's sentence mean that the West is ready to inflict hundreds of millions of death to maintain its privileges... Think about the enormity that Biden just laid out for everybody to hear. In a normal world he would be ostracized. Everybody would come out to condemn him. But ours is no longer a normal world. Modernity has proved to be a Western totalitarian enterprise to submit the whole world — to its view about what reality is all about — and to the interests, of its capital holders, which are the foundation on which is built Western rationality.

The continuum of the Western cultural field

We are confronted here with a case study, on a grand scale, of the thesis that I developed along the 700 pages of "The Continuum of the Cultural Field" which goes something like this :
  • Westerners view China and the Chinese as being from another planet and vice-versa
  • Civilizations imprint their foundational axioms in the minds of the individuals who remain largely unconscious about the fact.
  • Civilizational axioms act in the same way as mathematical axioms that are the roots of a complex system of logic. The master axiom of Western civilizational is "dualism" or opposites that fight for dominance till the death of one of them. The master axiom in Chinese civilization is "polarism" or complementary polarities whose interactions power their flow through time and in this sense the Chinese don't need a god to explain them the working of reality...
  • From their master axioms civilizations then develop derivative axioms and worldviews that gradually develop into the complex cultural systems of their different societies.
  • As in mathematics civilizational axioms are the roots of complex systems of logic. Civilizational axioms develop into complex systems of logic that supply to human societies the narratives of their worldviews (religions or other). These roots, or axioms, are impressed subconsciously in all daily ideas, behaviors, and actions of the individuals who are largely unconscious of the reason behind their behaviors. But individualism makes them believe in the centrality of their free will which closes their minds to any further inquiry into the nature of reality. And as such the deepening of individualism enters into conflict with the role that societies play in the grander scheme of ensuring the continuity of the species.

The deep meaning of these abstractions is best illustrated by the attitude of the individuals of different civilizations toward "the other".

Dualism subconsciously drives Western minds to think that they are on the side of good. And so they subconsciously view the differences of "the other", as a threat to themselves, which drives them to force "the other" into submission to their views of what they think is good. And if "the other" refuses to submit they are subconsciously driven to kill her or him. The encounter of Western Europeans, with "the other" during the entire history of Modernity, is a perfect illustration of this mechanism. In contrast “polarism” is what drives Chinese minds to think that reality is given by the interactions between polarities that power constant change. In light of this conception of the working of reality the Chinese view "the other" not as a threat but more as an opportunity to exchange some unknown knowledge, skill, or resource that "the other" might possess against a Chinese product.

This sketch, of Western and Chinese attitudes toward "the other", is a depiction of what are basically two irreconcilable worlds ! This implies that a lot of introspection will be needed if these two worlds are ever to engage with each other for the long term.

The history of the Western European encounter, with the rest of the world since the crusades, unfolded along the lines of this cultural model and it has been, to say the least, a devastating experience for the rest of the world that, very unfortunately for our species, resulted in the extinction of uncounted civilizations, of uncounted traditional societies, and in the death of hundreds of millions... Humanity, in the present moment, is once more facing the totalitarian wrath of Western civilization. But this time around the rest of the world has gained some experience in Western behaviors and refuses to further acquiesce to Western diktats. Lets never forget that the rest of the world represents 87% of the world population !

In contrast to the Western European encounter, with the rest of the world, the Chinese encounter is known for its celebration during more than 2 millennia of "the other's" difference through commercial and cultural exchanges.

Biden's gaffe exposed the real possibility that, to retain their privileges, white Westerners are now uniting in an adventure that could result in the mass extermination of non-whites to a high of nine digits... The fact is that the US is attempting to save its domination of the world through force while China merely pursues policies that preserve its own interest...

We are faced on one side with Western ideology and on the other side with Chinese pragmatism !

The ongoing Ukraine conflict will eventually end

1. A first scenario :

Let's be realist. The extreme sanctions instigated by the USA , and its bullying of the rest of the world into submission, may possibly ruin Russia. Such a scenario was evoked recently by non-other than Dmitry Medvedev as related by Brad Dress in The Hill :
"Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council who also previously served as the country's president and prime minister, wrote in a post on Russian social networking site VK.com that Russia has been "the target of the same mediocre and primitive game" since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

'This means that Russia must be humiliated, limited, shaken, divided and destroyed,' Medvedev wrote, saying if Americans succeed in that objective, 'here is the result: the largest nuclear power with an unstable political regime, weak leadership, a collapsed economy and the maximum number of nuclear warheads aimed at targets in the US and Europe.'

He then pinned the blame for tensions between the West and Russia on American aggression.

'Unlike the American establishment, which wants the end of our Motherland, Russia wants to see the United States as a strong and intelligent country, and not the last refuge of those who gradually fall into senile insanity,' the former Russian president wrote."
The fact that someone so high in the Russian hierarchy could evoke the possibility that the "Americans succeed in their objective", assuredly means that doubts must be rising in Russia's governance circles. But as stated here above if Russia was to collapse this would put China in the direct line of sight of NATO which the country wants to push back as far as possible into the future so as to have the time to better prepare for the kinetic shock, that being in the direct line of sight of NATO, implies. So notwithstanding the US threat, of sanctions against China for helping Russia, China feels an existential necessity to help Russia in order to keep it functioning.

Ensuring the survival of Russia will inevitably bring China and the US in a state of extreme tensions that could result in the use of force.
In such a case China's ability to further help Russia could possibly be weakened and a Russia, that already got itself weakened in Ukraine, could possibly be destroyed. China would then naturally, or suspend its export of commodities to the West, or ask for payment in Renminbi and that would invariably plunge the West in the greatest of all economic depressions which could rapidly unfold in a 3rd world war that China could possibly lose some years later because of a failure to procure the volumes of fossil fuels that would be necessary to power both its industrial base and its war effort.
After such an unlikely feat the USA could expand its hegemony over the whole world but a world that would have greatly changed : the global population would possibly be reduced by a few billion, the atmosphere would be saturated with very high levels of greenhouse gases, the climate... and so on. In other words the Western adventure to resist the natural path of societal evolution could very well end with an inhabitable world.

But, lets be realist, this scenario has little chances to pass. The reason for this is that Western societies are no longer able to function as one cohesive entity : their economic and financial systems are already on the verge of collapse, extreme levels of poverty are weakening their populations physically and mentally, extreme levels of inequality are fostering high levels of frustration and anger, and societal atomization has furthermore completely dislocated the cohesion of their societies. These factors constitute a handicap that Western nations can simply not overcome. Confronted with a Chinese societal cohesion that is at its maximum the Western existential handicap would rapidly lead to a very painful televised beating !

2. A second scenario.

The US extreme sanctions do not succeed to color revolution the Russian state nor to collapse its economy. But the effects of these sanctions are instead boomeranging back to the USA and Europe which pushes all Western countries in the greatest depression ever. In the meantime Russia and China could very well succeed to stabilize their economies and joined by India, Pakistan, Iran and nations in Africa and South-America they would rapidly conceptualize and build a new Multilateral world-order. The security of that order would be guaranteed by the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization" or SCO while its international reserve currency would be created and managed by a new International Monetary Fund. Most importantly this new currency would be backed by gold and other natural resources. The West, in the meantime, would have fallen into a very profound economic depression and would be  rocked by social upheaval.

China, India, Iran, Russia, the other countries of the heartland, of Africa and South-America, all would subscribe to this new multilateral world-order. And the West, which represents less than 13% of the world population would be faced with an existential choice : — or it would call for its integration in this new multilateral order but in that case it would have to submit to rules decided by the rest of the world — or it could declare war against China and Russia while trying to divide the rest of the world. But seen the structural nature of its societal woes the West would most probably be calling for its integration in the new order...

This would assuredly appease the Geo-Political scene but the world would nevertheless immediately be confronted with the great convergence of the multiple side-effects of Modernity and their destabilization of all human complex systems...
But that is another story that I’m presently writing about in the conclusion of the Volume 2 of my series “From Modernity to After-Modernity” which I hope to be able to publish this coming June.

In the meantime to keep your sanity, and to avoid having your mind being captured by Western propaganda, I hope everyone stays as far as possible from the daily news about the fighting in Ukraine. To keep one's sanity one better remember that the daily news is a propaganda ploy to distract from the big picture…
